The Northside Coalition of Jacksonville focuses on the problems of social, racial, and economic injustice.

STOP THE VIOLENCE AND INCREASE THE PEACE

THE NORTHSIDE COALITION STOP THE VIOLENCE PLAN

We believe it will take a new partnership between all shareholders to effectively reduce gun violence in our city.

There is a direct connection between poverty, unemployment, economic degradation, and gun violence.

By partnering with local businesses the city and other shareholders could launch new programs to train and hire people who live in certain economically ravaged areas.

Neighborhood revitalization will reduce gun violence.

This multi million-dollar plan of social and economic redevelopment could be funded by the public and private sectors.

We also believe the media and the city should unite to create and launch multimedia “Stop The Violence campaign” for radio and television.

We are asking all residents to participate in the “Ceasefire Jacksonville plan ” by not taking part in gun violence.

In addition, we perform the following which helps support the community:

  • We share information, take a stand and reach out to the public and politicians to help resolve community issues.
  • We utilize public forums for debate, discussion and comment.
  • We provoke community-led action for worthy causes.
  • We bring together people of different ages, professions, skills, and backgrounds to provide  volunteer support, different perspectives, ideas, and solutions.
  • We are supported by the direct involvement of our neighbors.
